Out of precaution for the upcoming winter storm that is expected to start late this evening into tomorrow the Town of Bostic has issued a state of emergency.
Based on the Weather Channel forecast, at this time potential threats for Bostic include snow, low visibility and dangerous wind chill temperature. With these conditions the area may experience power outages, hazardous road conditions and down trees. Stay at home if possible.
For emergencies: Call 911.
For non-emergency assistance: Such as downed trees or limbs in the roadway contact Rutherford County Communications Center at 828-286-2911.
Electric outage or down power lines for Bostic customers: Report to 828-245-0149.
Bostic Garbage customers: Decision will be made by 6:30 a.m. Saturday if pickup will be on schedule.
Town Hall: Decision will be made by 6:30 a.m. Saturday if the town hall will open as scheduled.
Updates from Town: Will be posted on the town’s website and Facebook page. Town of Bostic alert system will be utilized as needed.
